Erase Your Dental Flaws With Our Cosmetic Veneers

What makes veneers such a wonderful cosmetic option is how many imperfections they can hide in your smile. With our two types of veneers, you can cover up chips, cracks, stains, uneven, or gapped teeth. In fact, many people have considered veneers “instant orthodontics” because of how they can improve the appearance of slightly crooked teeth. If you have minor overlapping or small gaps in your teeth, cosmetic veneers can be an ideal choice.

We offer two kinds of veneers at our practice:

  • Minimal Prep Veneers – A popular option, these minimal prep veneers are great for those who want as little tooth preparation as possible for their restorations. Similar to traditional veneers, they are a long-lasting way to hide smile imperfections.
  • Porcelain Veneers – These are great if you want stain-resistant teeth, since they are not as translucent as minimal prep veneers. Traditional veneers do require a small amount of tooth enamel to be removed before we place them. We can use a local anesthetic so you won’t feel a thing. You can also receive laughing gas if you are particularly nervous.

Rest assured, Dr. Patel will discuss which veneers are best for you. We’ll also consider whether other cosmetic or even orthodontic treatments are a better solution to your smile problems.

Caring for Your Veneers Is Easy

After your veneers procedure, it’s important to take good care of your teeth, so you can enjoy many years with your beautiful new smile. You should:

  • Practice good oral hygiene with regular tooth brushing and flossing
  • Avoid grinding your teeth and wear a mouthguard if you have a TMJ disorder
  • Visit us twice a year for regular dental checkups
  • Never use your teeth like scissors or another instrument
  • Avoid chewing on things like ice, pens, or your fingernails

Basically, treat your veneers as nicely as you treat your natural teeth.

Common Questions About Cosmetic Veneers

Are cosmetic veneers painful?

Your veneers treatment should be completely comfortable. For some types of veneers, we may need to remove a small amount of tooth enamel to prepare your teeth. If this is necessary, we can use a local anesthetic to ensure you don’t experience any discomfort whatsoever. When it comes time to bond your veneers in place, this procedure should not cause you any discomfort, either.

Can you whiten cosmetic veneers?

No, dental veneers cannot be whitened. That’s why we advise our veneers patients to whiten their teeth to their desired level before they get their new veneers placed. We can then match the veneer color to their newly whitened teeth. Periodic touch-ups will keep your smile white and radiant.

How long do cosmetic veneers last?

That depends on a number of factors, including the type of veneers you choose, your overall oral health, your diet, and how well you care for your teeth. With proper care, our durable and stain-resistant veneers typically last at least a decade and sometimes many years more than that.
